Synod Series 2: “He Walked With Them”: The Art of Accompaniment
Throughout the Synod process, young people repeatedly expressed a desire for accompaniment and mentors. What does “accompaniment” mean in the local community, especially as youth and young adults are increasingly disconnected from the life of the parish? This session will explore how we can respond to the need for mentors and ministers. The presenters for this session feature special guests Jonathan Lewis, Brian Rhude, and Brenda Noriega Moderated by Katie Prejean McGrady and Paul Jarzembowski This is the second of a four-part series entitled Synodality: Unpacking the Universal Church’s Recent Work on “Young People, the Faith, and Vocational Discernment”. The series is hosted by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM), the Southeast Pastoral Institute for Hispanic/Latino Ministry (SEPI), the Catholic Apostolate Center (CAC), in collaboration with the USCCB Secretariat of Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth.
