Synod Series 4: “And Their Eyes Were Opened”: Vocational Discernment
The Synod Fathers noted that youth and young adulthood are “privileged moments for listening, for availability, and for accepting God’s will” (Final Document, 140) – and as such our ministry with young people “needs a vocational slant.” How do we orient our work towards helping youth and young adults respond to God’s call to holiness for their lives? This session will explore creative ideas on engaging young people in discerning their role in the world. The presenters for this session feature Andrew and Terri Lyke, Sr. Debbie Borneman SSCM, Fr. Frank Donio S.A.C., and John and Nicole Grosso. Moderated by Darius Villalobos This is the final session in the four-part series entitled Synodality: Unpacking the Universal Church’s Recent Work on “Young People, the Faith, and Vocational Discernment”. The series is hosted by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM), the Southeast Pastoral Institute for Hispanic/Latino Ministry (SEPI), the Catholic Apostolate Center (CAC), in collaboration with the USCCB Secretariat of Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth.
